Overview
To add your own custom image, follow these steps.
Steps:
- Imgur is a free, no-registration image host that allows quick and easy uploads and is currently the only supported option for custom images on Screen Canvas. To get started, visit Imgur.com.
- Upload your image by dragging it onto the webpage or by clicking New Post and uploading. We recommend an image size of 1920 x 1080 pixels or the same 16:9 aspect ratio for the best display.
- Once the upload is complete, click on the three dots in the top right corner of the image and select Get share links.
- Copy the 7-character image ID from the share link (note: do not use the image ID from the URL or the 'Copy Link' option; only use the share link ID).
- Head over to Screen Canvas and navigate to Images in the main menu.
- Click on the + button box and enter the 7-character image ID from Imgur. It is case-sensitive and must be an exact match.
- Click Download and your image will be saved to your library for future use.
- To delete a saved image, select it and long-press the select button on your Apple Remote for a few seconds. A prompt will appear—confirm by clicking Delete. Note: you can only delete images that you have added; preloaded images cannot be deleted.
Tips
- Ensure your Imgur image is appropriate for your design.
- Custom images are stored locally on your Apple TV.
- You are only limited by the storage space available on your Apple TV (Pro users).
- Use horizontal images with a 16:9 aspect ratio that are at least 1920 x 1080. Otherwise, Screen Canvas will crop images automatically to size, which may result in a portion of the image getting cut off.
